Open an XLSX file online with GridCraft
Use a browser-based spreadsheet editor to open, change and download an Excel workbook without creating an account.
Start with a copy
Keep the original file. GridCraft is an independent, open-source spreadsheet in alpha; a complex workbook can include features the editor does not preserve.
Open and edit
- Open the ZeninData spreadsheet editor in a desktop browser.
- Use the editor’s Open control to select a local XLSX file. A dropped file can also be opened by the app.
- Check the sheet names, values and formulas before editing. Click a cell to enter data, or use the formula bar.
- Use Save in the editor to download your workbook as an XLSX file. Check the downloaded result before removing the original.
What stays on your device?
The web application reads your file locally. ZeninData does not upload your workbook or keep a server copy. Saving creates a download, so there is no cloud backup if you close the tab without saving.
What about older Excel formats?
Prefer XLSX. Old XLS files have partial support; XLSB and ODS imports may use saved cell values rather than live formulas. Macros do not run. For detailed limits, see GridCraft vs Excel.
Try the sample sales workbook first if you want to explore without opening a personal file.
